A man will appear in court today accused of the murder of a woman found stabbed in the street.
Trevor Gibbon, 48, of Windsor Crescent, Rayners Lane, will appear in custody at Hendon Magistrates' Court.
He was yesterday charged with the murder of Alison Morrison, 45, after being arrested in Lincolnshire on Thursday.
Mrs Morrison, vice chairman of Harrow Safer Neighbourhood Board, was found that morning suffering from stab wounds in Alexandra Avenue. She died later that morning.
Mrs Morrison's family has issued the following statement: "Alison was an inspiration, a warm and loving person who will be deeply missed by her husband and son.
"Her devastating loss as a result of this senseless attack is also felt by all the family, local community and all who knew her.
"We would like to thank the police and emergency services for their support and ask that the family's privacy be respected at this time."
