Less than one month ago the Wealdstone Raider was an ordinary man working as a builder – but today he is celebrating his single reaching number five in the charts.

The football fan, whose real name is Gordon Hill, was propelled to fame after a YouTube video of him taunting rival supporters at a Wealdstone FC game last year went viral.

He had hoped his 30 second Christmas single called Got No Fans, which was last week in the iTunes top three, would make it to number 1 in the top 40 – but told Radio 1 he was happy to settle with making it to number five.

He said: “It’s surreal. I don’t believe it’s me. I’m a normal person. At the moment I’m dreaming, I’m in dreamland and then I’ll wake up and be back on the cement mixer.”

The clip has been viewed by more than six million people online, and since then Mr Hill has been charging people money to take a photo of him – but it’s all in the name of charity.

Proceeds from Got No Fans will go to the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Wealdstone Raiders Youth FC and Autism Concern.
