SCOUTS, Beavers and Cubs were awash with swirls of colour when they took part in a run to raise money for charity.

People aged two to 73 flocked to the West Harrow Park to take part in the colour run event, organised by the 2nd Rayners Lane Scout Group.

They raised £2,500 for the Scouts Against Malaria initiative, which will pay for insecticide impregnated mosquito nets to be distributed to some of the worst hit areas of Africa.

Conner, one the Scouts, said: “ I had lots of fun and the experience was phenomenal. I thought it was a great social get together as a community and as a Scout Group to raise money for a cause that needs so much help.

“I even got the pink out of my hair, which was amazing.”

Mother Karen said her son, Harry, did not want to have a bath as he wanted the colour to stay on forever.

Scout leader Reshma Patel said: “It has been a brilliant event to put together and we have had lots of help from our parents.

“I think parents have got just as much from this event as the children.

“I am so proud that the children from this group have consistently strived to make a difference to the community, both locally and internationally over the past 3 years.”

Sainsbury’s in Rayners Lane and Lawrence Rand in Eastcote also helped make the event a success.
