The new Mayor of Brent was announced last night as Councillor Michael Adeyeye.
He was elected at the council’s annual meeting, and officially appointed at the Mayor Making Ceremony.
Cllr Adeyeye, who was born in Nigeria, has lived in Brent for 42 years and been a ward councillor for Queen’s Park since 2010. He will be supported by the new deputy mayor, Councillor Bobby Thomas.
The new mayor and mayoress, Esther Adeyeye, began their year in office by announcing their charities, the Brent Association for Disabled People, Sickle Cell Society and Rays of Sunshine.
