Harrow Borough were knocked out of the Ryman League Cup after losing 1-0 at Enfield Town on Tuesday night.
Dave Anderson fielded a much-changed team from the one expected to take on Waltham Abbey at home in tomorrow's FA Cup third qualifying round tie.
The Towners netted the winning goal six minutes into the second half. Corey Whitely outmuscled Danny May to a loose ball and fired past Nick Jupp.
It was nearly 2-0 through Whitely again but his effort was kept out by a superb Jupp save.
The visitors went close to scoring an equaliser late on but Spencer Bellotti fired wide from close range while he also lobbed over the bar.
The Reds will turn their attention to the FA Cup this weekend when they face Ryman North side Waltham Abbey who are unbeaten in eight matches.
Boro were ruthlessly punished on Saturday as they fell to a 4-1 defeat at Peacehaven & Telscombe in the Ryman Premier Division.
Anderson’s side conceded the opener when Joe Gatting slotted past Charlie Horlock.
But the Reds equalised after the half hour mark when Lewis Driver’s effort was blocked on the line and Jake Gilbert netted the follow up.
Peacehaven restored their lead in the second half through Gatting against the run of play.
Sami El Abd headed in the third before Boro’s hopes were extinguished by Josh Jones’ curling effort.
