Wealdstone midfielder Ryan Hope says he is excited to get back into the swing of things after returning to the Stones following a stint on work experience previously.

The 19-year-old has returned to the club after spending time at Boreham Wood and Harrow Borough last season.

“It’s brilliant, I am really pleased to join Wealdstone,” he enthused. “I was signed on work experience last season when I was released by Watford but I never made an appearance.

“I am really excited about moving to Wealdstone. Gordon Bartlett is a really good guy and it was good to be able to talk the move over with him.

“I did not hesitate to give him a call asking to come down.”

Hope was on loan at Harrow last season and helped the Reds avoid dropping out of the Isthmian Premier Division, whilst winning the Middlesex Senior Cup.

He said: “As a young guy and as my first experience of going into men’s football it was amazing. The club appointed Steve Baker as manager and we kicked on from there with the fans right behind us.

“I think the quality at this level is a bit higher than in the Isthmian but I am looking forward to testing myself back in the National League.”
