Isaac Success has earned his first call-up to the full Nigeria squad but fellow Watford striker Odion Ighalo has been excused for personal reasons.

The 20-year-old, who moved to the Hornets in the summer from Granada, has yet to start a Premier League game, but has caught the eye as a substitute, not least on Sunday when his teasing run led to Camilo Zuniga being fouled for Troy Deeney's game-clinching penalty in the 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

Ighalo though, has not been included in the 23-man squad to face Zambia in a World Cup qualifier on October 9 due to attending the burial of his father the previous day.

Success is one of seven English-based players in the Nigerian squad, the majority of whom are forwards with Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City), Ahmed Musa (Leicester City), Victor Moses (Chelsea) and Alex Iwobi (Arsenal) also included.

Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme are also in the 23 for the Group B clash.
